Achieving our Vision

This 10-year collaborative effort brings together Philadelphia, out-of-school time providers, universities, businesses, local government, and the philanthropic community. By utilizing a collective impact approach, we aim to identify and close the gaps facing individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in STEM. Our diverse members work together in various capacities, fostering an inclusive environment that empowers all participants. Our Hear From Our Youth campaign is dedicated to shining a spotlight on the incredible achievements of our students in STEM. Together, we strive to create a brighter future for the STEM workforce.

Hear From Our Youth

The "Hear From Our Youth" campaign has created a space on PSEC's social media platform for young students of Philadelphia to share their interests, future aspirations, and why they're passionate about STEM.   We aim to share their stories, celebrating their unique journeys, passions, and the inspiring paths they are forging in college and beyond. From groundbreaking research projects to innovative solutions they're developing, this campaign provides a platform for these future leaders to showcase their talents and contributions.

The campaign also highlights the diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and aspirations that fuel innovation in STEM, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and representation. Join us in celebrating their achievements and get inspired by the next generation of changemakers shaping the future.  Click HERE to join the campaign!

I fell in love with the idea of using science to help others in my community, and going into college, I knew I wanted to further my passions in STEM. I love being able to apply the techniques and skills I learned in class into real life and create tangible solutions to problems. I am able to create real devices and softwares to use in my labs and hands on classes. I also love being able to give back to the community and teach them STEM.
